Random Acts of Kindness

My heart was truly touched today.
After dinner I walked back to my office and was surprised to find mail waiting for me… the package had been sent to me was huge and it didn’t have an address that I recognized on it. So (after checking to make sure it wasn’t ticking) I opened it.
After reading the note I learned that the package came from the North Georgia Mopar Club. The NGMC is first and foremost a car club but they also give back by doing different volunteer work. One of the programs that they have is called the “Hero’s Fund” in which they send care packages to Soldiers deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. They received my name from one of their members and decided to send a care package for me and my unit. Now let me tell you… this was not an average care package… it was AMAZING!
Ladies and Gentlemen, You name it… they sent it. Magazines, games, cards, pens, postcards, socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, baby wipes, germ-ex, q-tips, girl scout cookies, candy, gum, oatmeal, granola bars, drink mixes, ramen noodles, tuna kits for lunch, razors, shaving cream, deodorant, and silly string.
I just want to say thank you to the North GA Mopar Club. I do not personally know them and they took the time and money to put together an amazing care package for my unit and I. It truly touches my heart to know that people care so much. Thank you for making us feel so loved and so appreciated. I only wish that you could truly know how much your care package meant to us.
** Note: I visited their website and found their sponsors and charities page (here). If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, I would encourage you to make a donation to their organization (I plan to when I get home). I can vouch for the fact that your money would go to the troops (the items in the care package that I received were not cheap and shipping a heavy box over here is not cheap either).
