From August 16 to August 18, the Prospectors Car Club will be hosting their annual car show where the streets will be filled with classic cars.
There will be plenty to do besides the car show,
including a pin-up girl contest and live music.
The Prospectors Car Club is hoping for more than 200 classic cars to participate in the weekend’s events,
with a drive from downtown Quesnel to Wells on Friday morning.
Prospectors Car Club’s Saturday Event Schedule
On Saturday, they will be hosting a poker run in the parking lot of the West Fraser Centre and Arena 2.
This event will be fun for participants as the more people that participate,
the more money the winner will receive and they have a special activity that must be completed before receiving their cards.
Newmarket Car Club’s 50th Anniversary Celebration Planned
The Newmarket Car Club started over 50 years ago as a way to show off cool cars,
but it’s grown into a large organization that contributes a lot to the community. Now,
the club is celebrating its 50th anniversary and will be hosting an event on August 17th.
Tickets are $10 at the door and there will be food, music,
a dance floor, and other things to get involved and enjoy.
The club’s president said it’s exciting that the club has grown to the point where they can host an event like this,
and they’ve had a lot of fun over the years.
The club is also known for supporting the community,
raising money for the Town of Newmarket’s Winterfest, Newmarket Minor Hockey, and two other organizations.
